Course Policies
- DC Institute, an independently run division of Dental Corporation of Canada Inc., (“DCI”) provides dental continuing education courses and services, including without limitation, educational materials, seminars and training and development instructions (collectively, “DCI materials”) for informational purposes only. DCI materials are made available to update dental professionals on current practice management, research and treatment protocols in general. They are not intended to encourage dental professionals to manage clinical conditions that fall outside the scope of the practice of dentistry; to encourage general dentists to attempt treating dental conditions that fall outside the scope of a general dental practice; or to take the place of timely and appropriate referrals to dental or medical specialists. DCI’s courses are not intended to address the specific needs of any particular patient or individual.
- DCI, in some cases, strives to disseminate new knowledge related to dental practice. In so doing, some DCI material may contain controversial materials or commercial references. Any referral to a specific commercial product or technology is coincidental and does not imply a product endorsement. Sponsorship of a continuing dental education course by DCI does not imply endorsement of a particular philosophy, procedure, or product. DCI materials do not necessarily reflect the clinical advice or philosophy of DCI, its partners, affiliated organizations, instructors or employees.
- DCI reserves the right to amend, retract or cancel, in whole or in part, DCI materials without notice. Should a significant change occur, every effort would be made to notify registered participants. In addition, fees listed are subject to change at any time.
- All DCI materials and any other services or made available by DCI are on an "as is" and “as available” basis, without any warranty. DCI hereby disclaims all representations, warranties or conditions of any kind, express, implied, statutory, arising from course of deal, usage or trade, or otherwise, and including without limitation any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement of third party rights or title, without limiting the foregoing, by using DCI materials, you understand, acknowledge and agree that (a) you are solely responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of knowledge and training for the successful operation of your dental practice and/or maintenance of your professional licensing requirements , (b) DCI materials are offered as a part, but not the only part, of the knowledge-based resources that you need to successfully operate your dental practice and/or maintain your professional licensing requirements, (c) information provided by DCI, including DCI materials, is subject to change from time to time, including (without limitation) to take into account new ideas or developments in clinical care and/or standards of practice, and you are solely responsible for ensuring that information that you may obtain through DCI is current, accurate and complete, and (d) neither DCI nor any of its operators, officers, affiliates, agents, licensors, employees, suppliers, subcontractors or internet service provider(s) (collectively, "its representatives"), are responsible for ensuring that that the information and other resources provided by DCI or its affiliates, including without limitation, that DCI materials are sufficient for your needs.
- In no event will DCI or representatives be liable to you or any third party, including any patient of yours, for any damages whatsoever, including personal injury, or any direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages whatsoever arising from or relating to DCI materials, including use thereof. This includes, but is not limited to, lost revenue, lost profits, lost or damaged data or other commercial or economic loss, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence) or any other theory of liability. The limitation will apply even if DCI or its representatives have been advised or should have known of the possibility of such damages.
