Dr. Malkinson graduated from McGill University with his DMD in 2007. He subsequently spent a year at the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency at the University of Connecticut, followed by a one-year General Practice Residency at the University of British Columbia. Finally, he spent three years in Richmond, Virginia, pursuing his specialty in periodontics and Masters of Science in Dentistry at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.
Dr. Malkinson is a Faculty Lecturer at McGill University’s Faculty of Dentistry. In 2014 he was named Clinical Demonstrator of the Year by the McGill dental students, and in 2015 was honoured to receive the W.W. Wood Award for Excellence in Dental Education and the American Academy of Periodontology Outstanding Teaching and Mentoring in Periodontics Award. His current focus at McGill is teaching communication skills to the dental students, as well as giving courses for Continuing Dental Education. He also had the opportunity to spend a semester teaching as a clinician at the Université de Montréal’s Faculté de médecine dentaire.
Dr. Malkinson has served as an Examiner Expert in Content for the National Dental Examining Board of Canada, and has been a Manuscript Reviewer for the European dental journal Acta Odontologica Scandinavica. He maintains a full-time private practice limited to periodontics and surgical implant therapy in and around Montreal, QC.
